God created the universe. He created the earth and all its inhabitants, including the first man and woman. God gave Adam and Eve one law: don’t eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Tempted by the serpent, Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. God considered this a grave sin.
As punishment, god kicked Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden. Seeing how well they did with one rule, god imposed hundreds of new rules on his people.
Fast forward a few thousand years, and God sees his people as evil. Not because of their own sins but because of the first sin of Adam and Eve. God judged that all people deserved to be punished for this original sin.
To save his people from himself, for sins they did not commit, god sent his only begotten son to earth to be tortured and killed.
